About the team

The Credit team at slice ensures responsible lending and manages credit risk across products. The team evaluates loan applications, monitors portfolio performance, and collaborates with branches and operations teams to maintain a healthy and profitable credit portfolio. It’s a high-impact, detail-oriented team focused on balancing growth with risk management.

About the role

As an Area Credit Manager, you will oversee credit operations and portfolio performance across multiple branches in your assigned region. You will guide branch credit teams, review credit proposals, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory guidelines.

What you'll do

  • Review, evaluate, and approve credit applications for retail and business customers across the assigned region.
  • Monitor portfolio quality, track early warning signals, and implement corrective actions to minimize risk.
  • Mentor and support branch credit officers to strengthen credit assessment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, internal credit policies, and regulatory requirements across all branches.
  • Collaborate with branch managers and operations teams to streamline credit processes and reduce turnaround times.
  • Analyze regional credit data to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
  • Prepare MIS and reports on portfolio performance, approvals, and delinquencies for leadership.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field; professional certifications (CA, CFA, or similar) are a plus.
  • 6–10 years of experience in credit appraisal, underwriting, or risk management, preferably in banks, NBFCs, or fintech.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial statement analysis, credit assessment, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and guiding branch credit officers.
  • Excellent understanding of credit policies, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and credit/loan management systems.
