Job Title: Executive – Consumer Technical Insight

Department: Product Development / Innovation Lab

Location: Mumbai

Reporting To: Manager – Product Innovation / Technical Evaluation

Role Overview

The Executive – Consumer Technical Insight will bridge the gap between consumers and the technical formulation team. The role involves testing lab-made product samples directly on consumers, conducting salon trials, managing long-term consumer evaluations, and translating user feedback into actionable insights for formulation improvement and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard suitable consumers and salon partners for product testing and trials.
  • Conduct spot testing, short-term, and long-term consumer trials for lab-developed formulations across skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics.
  • Observe, record, and analyze consumer responses on product performance, texture, fragrance, efficacy, and sensorial attributes.
  • Visit salons to conduct product demonstrations and gather professional feedback from stylists and makeup artists, BAs.
  • Maintain detailed data logs of consumer trials and feedback sessions and consumer profiles.
  • Collaborate closely with formulation, claims, and marketing teams to interpret feedback and suggest technical modifications.
  • Summarize key consumer insights and translate them into meaningful product improvement recommendations.
  • Support the creation of consumer evaluation reports and assist in product validation for launch readiness.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetology, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in consumer testing, salon evaluation, or product development within the beauty and personal care industry.
