About The Role
The Assistant Manager – Cost & Procurement Governance will anchor financial discipline and capital governance across the pan-India network of Distribution Centers (DCs), Fulfillment Centers (FCs), and Dark Stores.
This role will own end-to-end CAPEX tracking, budget governance, procurement process coordination, asset capitalization tracking, and financial reporting for all infrastructure, automation, and technology initiatives across nodes.
By combining structured financial control with cross-functional coordination, you will ensure capital deployment is controlled, compliant, and aligned to approved business cases — enabling scalable and sustainable network expansion.
Note: Commercial negotiations and rate finalization are managed by Central Procurement and are outside the scope of this role.

Key Responsibilities
- CAPEX Planning & Governance:
- Support annual CAPEX planning across DCs, FCs, and Dark Stores.
- Maintain centralized CAPEX tracker (project-wise, node-wise, network-level).
- Monitor Budget vs. Actual (BvA) and committed vs. invoiced spends.
- Track cost burn rate across projects and flag deviations proactively.
- Drive financial visibility across ongoing and upcoming expansion projects.
- Ensure alignment with approved Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA).
- Procurement Process Coordination (Non-Negotiation Scope):
- Coordinate PR-to-PO process with Central Procurement.
- Validate budget approvals prior to PO issuance.
- Track PO release timelines and milestone-based billing.
- Ensure invoice validation, GRN alignment, and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain audit-ready procurement documentation repository.
- Project Cost Monitoring & Control:
- Track capital spends across automation, MHE, racking, civil works, CCTV, security systems, and tech integrations.
- Ensure cost tagging to correct cost centers and asset classes.
- Highlight cost overruns and support corrective action planning.
- Monitor committed liability exposure and future payment obligations.
- Asset Capitalization & Financial Compliance:
- Coordinate with Finance for asset capitalization and asset master updates.
- Track capitalization timelines and depreciation start dates.
- Ensure documentation compliance for statutory and internal audits.
- Maintain network-level asset governance tracker.
- Data, Analytics & Reporting:
- Develop dashboards for CAPEX tracking and capital efficiency metrics.
- Track capital productivity indicators (₹ per sq. ft., ₹ per pallet position, ₹ per throughput unit).
- Present monthly financial governance reports to leadership.
- Support expansion feasibility analysis with structured cost inputs.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Finance / Supply Chain / Operations
- 2-4 years of experience in cost control, procurement governance, or supply chain finance
- Experience in multi-site warehousing or e-commerce environment preferred
- Strong understanding of CAPEX vs OPEX classification
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar)
- Advanced Excel / financial dashboarding capability
- Exposure to network-level capital governance across pan-India operations
- Ownership of high-impact automation and expansion financial tracking
